This is a very entertaining story for girls ages 9-12. I bought this entire print series as a gift and selected book 1 to read on my Kindle. It's about 12-year old Lia Strong having a lot to deal with in middle school. Then she turns to age 13 and her life changes forever. Her ancestry is a long line of super women, and she now has super powers of strength and also a strange way of knocking out people. This is an exciting and humorous story, and as a grandma, I loved it. There are also a few delightful illustrations.
This is such a fun - and funny - book! My 4 and 6 year olds are having a blast listening to me read this to them. Of course, I've had to practice and ramp up my book sound effects, but that makes it a joy to read. I could see, though, where an older child - say, 9 and up - would have an absolute BLAST reading this book. As it is, we are spending lots of reading time giggling. :-)
Such a fun, fun book to read. I read it as an adult and thought of so many older elementary and tween girls and boys that would laugh and giggle their way through the book. The authors do such a great job integrating realistic teen thoughts, conversations, and situations into the fast paced fantasy of what it might be like to have such super powers. Reading Super Girl is a super choice!
Was looking for a girls version of diary of a wimpy kid or captain underpants with all of those illustrations. This book is a regular chapter book with the occasional picture of a character's face. Maybe 7 or 8 of those illustrations. I hope the book can keep a 10 year olds attention. We'll see since this is a Christmas gift.
What a treat this lively book is for the intermediate age kids. Read this to a group of students who loved every moment and begged for a few more pages before we stopped. Kudos to Mr. Zakour for capturing the heart and humor of young kids living in the real world today. We are waiting for more adventures to come!
Read this along with my daughter.She’s only 7 but has enjoyed this book immensely- totally appropriate and female empowering themes.
My daughter saw the cover and couldn't wait. Downloaded it to my Kindle and she started immediately. Finished in two nights. She laughed all the way through it. She is now reading part 2.
