The question "Who is Allah?" doesn't show up until page 20 of the 30-page book and then they only spend two pages talking about it.The first two thirds of the story are spent defining common Islamic phrases like subhanallah and inshallah which is a nice thing to have for a child but not why I bought this book.We finally get to the part where the main character asks about Allah and it starts off well, his father says that Allah created everything and has no partners but then the father says "He is above the clouds, very high up in the sky!".The last third of the book is the main character making dua for a kite. The dad encouraged him to do so and says Allah will answer his dua if he's good. The books end with the dad buying a kite for his son.Overall, not the worst book in the world but almost no time is spent addressing what the title suggests will be discussed and then it gives a misrepresented of how dua works.
I thought it was an excellent book for introducing and creating an awareness of the Creator. Great for instilling a sense of gratitude and humility. Thank you for another avenue to plant the seeds of taqwa.
I love this book because it teaches a few Islamic Arabic phrases. The fact that the author is able to tackle the concept of God in a way that very early learners are able to understand, is quite remarkable. My Sons love reading this book and looking at the fantastic graphics. This is definitely a book that I would happily buy for other family and friends.
